- Have a grasp on the basics of Music Theory.
- Be able to identify and perform 15+ guitar chords.
- Perform full songs from Classical, Blues, Rock, Holiday genres in solo, duo, and group settings.
- Gain a passion of various genres and history of music through performance!
Grading Procedures and Expectations
The following grading scale will be used to evaluate a students’ performance:
100-90 = A | 89-80 = B | 79-75 = C | 74-70 = D | 69 or below = F
If Student chooses not to bring their guitar and/or fails to participate in class they will receive a “zero” on their daily work. Unless I’m made aware of a pressing situation by the student or parent before class time, this grade will stand. If left unchecked these will add up and result in a failing grade for the 9 weeks period.
Students have 5 school days to make up a performance test whether it be from an absence or an unsatisfactory score. Student will get once chance for full credit, thence forward the max will drop from 80% down by 10% on consequential attempts. This will ensure that the student is indeed ready for the test and not practicing as they go. Be accountable for your grade!
A Student’s grade will be calculated as follows:
1. Daily Work/Materials Grade
20%
2. Practice Log
10%
3. Worksheet/Online Assignments
10%
4. Tests - playing on instrument, written
40%
5. Projects - Written/Recording/Performance

1. Tuning Instrument
2. Finishing Posted Assignment (as required)
3. Finger Calisthenics/ Scales/ Chords
4. Daily Focus (Rhythmic Reading/ Solfedge/ Treble Staff/ Fingerboard Indentification)
